Product Description

Available in all our 1" Designer Patterns.

Perfect for use as a training tool, use a pull-and-RELEASE action, so that your pull turns the dog from the direction he’s going, towards you. Immediately, as he is redirected, release the pull, so the lead is slack. We have found that this tool works best with a 2’ or 4’ lead.

Use vocal praise when the dog looks at you with slack in the lead, reinforced if you wish, with a treat. Use a very small piece of some high-value food like cheese, hot dog, freeze-dried liver, whatever he loves, as long as its small. Your dog pulls you, you pull to redirect the dog, releasing the tension as soon as the dog has turned towards you, at which point you make sure he knows you think that’s the greatest thing he’s ever done. Be consistent in the redirect and use lots of praise.

The No-Pull harness does not keep the dog from pulling. It helps you convey that pulling is much less rewarding than not pulling. You should see some improvement pretty quickly. The time it takes to change a behavior greatly depends on how consistent you are. Well-exercised dogs learn faster than dogs with too much pent-up energy, but all dogs can learn to walk politely.

For very ‘reactive’ dogs, try practicing in the house where there are fewer distractions. Also, changing direction frequently keeps the dog thinking about you. Praise him for keeping up.

Collar and lead not included.

  1. Leashes-Harnesses-Guarantee

Posted by Gina on 14th Jul 2014

First try at the training harness to reduce pulling - so far, so good! Love Lupine products and have found their guarantee true. Have bought products for all pets over the past 20+ years, and will always look for Lupine.

My only request -- more patterns that are not so cutesy, esp for females -- patterns my son and husband will be o.k. with when walking their large dog. Thinking color + fun + outdoor lifestyle.

  2. Strap Rolls

Posted by Unknown on 8th Jul 2014

The harness material is the same as the Lupine collars and is too thin for a chest strap. The harness around the chest and under the arms rolls up and will not remain flat. This has caused some irritation in my dog's arm pits and has knotted up his hair. It needs to be thicker to prevent the rolling problem. I have a 75 lb. Golden and I have discontinued using it.

**This may not be the issue, but please note that our No-Pull Harness is a training product and therefore not intended to be left on your dog when not being used for training. Please feel free to contact us so that we can help you find the best product for your needs.

  3. has done wonders!

Posted by Peggy on 30th May 2014

I purchased this no pull harness after reviewing the video..My mini Australian Shepherd pulls so hard when we walk, that it isn't enjoyable to walk him. I gave this a try and on the first walk, I was amazed at how well he was doing with this and our verbal commands. I finally enjoy taking him for walks.

  4. Works Great With My Husky

Posted by Adam on 6th May 2014

I have an 80 lb Husky/Basenji mix, and needless to say he's STRONG. This no-pull harness goes under his front legs and helps train him to not pull. I've had it for a week, and I already notice a difference when walking.

  5. This really works

I purchased the harness hoping it would make walking our boxer easier. I made a huge difference the first time out! Great product. And it matches the collar and leash I bought!
