Product Description

Available in all our 3/4" Traditional Solid colors.

Perfect for use as a training tool, use a pull-and-RELEASE action, so that your pull turns the dog from the direction he’s going, towards you. Immediately, as he is redirected, release the pull, so the lead is slack. We have found that this tool works best with a 2’ or 4’ lead.

Use vocal praise when the dog looks at you with slack in the lead, reinforced if you wish, with a treat. Use a very small piece of some high-value food like cheese, hot dog, freeze-dried liver, whatever he loves, as long as its small. Your dog pulls you, you pull to redirect the dog, releasing the tension as soon as the dog has turned towards you, at which point you make sure he knows you think that’s the greatest thing he’s ever done. Be consistent in the redirect and use lots of praise.

The No-Pull harness does not keep the dog from pulling. It helps you convey that pulling is much less rewarding than not pulling. You should see some improvement pretty quickly. The time it takes to change a behavior greatly depends on how consistent you are. Well-exercised dogs learn faster than dogs with too much pent-up energy, but all dogs can learn to walk politely.

For very ‘reactive’ dogs, try practicing in the house where there are fewer distractions. Also, changing direction frequently keeps the dog thinking about you. Praise him for keeping up.

Collar and lead not included.

Thank You Lupine! 5 Star Review

I love this harness. It works just as the video shows. My 30lb. Doxie/Pitbull walks right at my side. He stops when I stop, turns where I turn. Even when we encounter at rabbit or a squirrel i can still maintain control. He also does not try to chew this one off as he had done sucessfuly with 4 previous harnesses.

Works like magic, well made 5 Star Review

I decided to try the No-Pull Harness for a recently adopted 60-pound hound dog that pulled hard incessantly. The harness works like magic. It is designed to enable the dog walker to communicate more effectively with a pulling dog by giving a short tug that turns the dog’s head toward the walker. In my case, the dog simply stopped pulling altogether when I began using the No-Pull Harness because she noticed that doing so became awkward. The dog has a disconnected ACL in a hind leg and walks mostly on her other three legs, so the harness probably affects her when pulling more than it would an uninjured dog. When she is not pulling, the harness does not interfere with her activity.

Instead of fastening the harness to the collar, then the leash to the harness, I fasten the leash to the collar and harness simultaneously. For a dog that is both newly adopted and still making the transition from the country to the city, this provides extra security when she is panicked by traffic or excited by squirrels. Fastening the harness this way also elevates the leash a little bit so that she steps over it less often; it does not appear to impact the harness’s effectiveness.

We tried a Gentle Leader but it was clear that it would take a lot of training to get the dog to accept it. Looking for an ordinary harness, I went to Lupine’s web site because the dog’s Lupine leash is the best I’ve ever used--among other things, the clip is designed differently from most clips and cannot be accidentally sprung the way others can when encountering hard jerks and the pulling of a panicked dog. I decided to give the No-Pull Harness a try, and it is working so well that it may become permanent, not just for training.

    It works! 5 Star Review

Finally a no-pull harness that really works and it's easy to put on and off! I've tried many different types of leads and harnesses and haven't had any work for me with my beagle Until I tried this one.

Addi Scissormouth No More 5 Star Review

Very, very happy with this harness. Was using easy walker harness for my standard poodle. Despite proper fit and comfort adjustments, she would reach down and try to chew through the harness, and sometimes with success. This harness does not seem to bother her and therefore she is not attempting to chew through it. My goldendoodle also seems very comfortable in this harness. Both dogs can be controlled very well with this simple design. Extremely pleased. Thank you very much!

Good for pulling 4 Star Review

Posted by on Mar 9th 2016

This harness works great if you are trying to work on training your dog to not pull you forward! Unfortunately my puppy also likes to pick up gross things on the side of the road on our daily walks. When you pull on the leash it sort of pulls their head down and back toward you, this is great for training your pup to not pull you forward, but it also puts my dog in prime position to pick up litter on the sidewalk! I will definitely start using this harness once I've gotten her to stop eating things off the side of the road! This is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, but it is great for its intended purpose!
